Here we are again, another weekend drawing to a close, another Sunday and another blog post!
Today I’m going to be sharing with you how I got my hands on a lovely jacket that had previously belonged to Toff AKA QUEEN OF THE JUNGLE AKA my MIC girl crush! I can’t wait to share with you guys how I got this jacket and how I style it!
Having a very similar style to Toff, I was extremely excited at the thought of owning an item of clothing that had previously belonged to her. I was able to do this when I came across the wonderful site ebloggers. Scrolling through the site, I realised there were SO many lovely items of clothing available, from high-end labels to high street, from a variety of bloggers, both male and female, at such affordable prices. After a lot of scrolling and ‘oohing‘ and ‘ahhing‘ over every item I loved, I settled on a Yumi jacket in a lovely apricot pinky colour which just screamed Spring at me.
Why buy pre-loved?
Ebloggers is a wonderful site to buy second hand items. Not only can you buy items of clothing from some of your favourite bloggers and celebrities but all sales raise money for charity, which is what especially attracted me to the site. Charity shopping and buying second hand items is increasingly on the rise and has many benefits. Charity shopping always reminds me of that scene in Wild Child, ”WHO ARE WE”. The fact you can buy clothing items that might be a season or two or maybe even years old, doesn’t mean they’re outdated or out of fashion. Fashion is ageless and it’s the way you style it that makes your item ‘you’. To me, it’s about whether I like an item of clothing and not how current it is. If I like it, I’m going to buy it and style it how I want to, regardless of how old it is or who else has worn it.
Purchasing the jacket was super easy! The process was extremely swift and the item was in my hands within a matter of days. Ebloggers deals with the sales process on behalf of the bloggers. I was worried in case I may have needed to return the item and this is something I always ensure is possible before making a purchase off any website. FORTUNATELY I did not need to return the jacket (all hail this beautiful gem of a jacket) but if I had needed to, ebloggers were willing to accept returns which put my mind at ease!
How I’ve styled the jacket
I’ve been really eager to get out of my heavy winter coats and put on something a little lighter and ‘Spring-like’. I long for the days where I can leave the house without needing a coat and not knowing whether I should pack an umbrella. Unfortunately, if you live in the UK you know how frustrating it is to want to wear your Spring clothes but the weather just doesn’t play ball and we find ourselves wearing winter coats well on into April!
Being an exceptionally cold person as it is and the weather not always on my side, it has been difficult to wear just this jacket. But alas, the one day I decided to wear it, this ball of light shone from the sky (I think they call it sun in hotter climates?!) and it was slightly warm (it must have been if I’M saying it is). In true typical Brit style when the sun comes out, we flock to the local park, sunglasses on, shorts on if you dare and pretend we’re in the depths of summer. This was the perfect day for me to snap some shots and showcase my ebloggers purchase!
I decided to go for a more casual look on this day pairing my jacket with a white blouse, black jeans and some pink loafers which may I add were £7 in the sale from H&M- what a bargain! When the weather does decide to warm up and I’m brave enough to get my legs out, I plan to wear the jacket with a skirt and my white boots which I cannot wait to wear together!
I’d really encourage you all to have a look on ebloggers or pop into your local charity shop and have a rummage for some second-hand bargains. You never know what you might find at such great prices!
I’d love to hear about any great second-hand pieces you’ve ever bought or any thrifty purchases you have made.
I hope you all have had a lovely weekend and have a fab week, hopefully the sun does shine as planned!
Until next week…
